Duties include:
• Analyzing product and/or equipment specifications and performance requirements;
• Investigating, evaluating and implementing new assembly processes and equipment;
• Technical liaison for customers and suppliers regarding assembly processes;
• Advising launch teams of assembly process capability;
• Assisting in the development, design, testing, and installation of automated manufacturing systems and processes;
• Providing technical assistance to help resolve quality concerns, increase productivity, and improve safety;
• Assisting Design and Development groups in selecting processes for introduction into new programs.
• 0-2+ years of experience, including automated assembly;
• Experience with factory automation is preferred;
• Automotive experience is a plus;
• The ideal candidate will have a mix of manufacturing engineering and process engineering;
• Knowledge of standards such as Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) or American Standard Technical Methods (ASTM);
• Technical writing, data analysis, problem solving;
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
