Responsibilities:
• Planning and coordinating the Product Engineering activities;
• Supervising department personnel as assigned;
• Developing and overseeing product design and methods of manufacture;
• Coordinating between Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Materials;
• Analyzing product specifications and performance requirements;
• Determining the workability of designing new product or modifying existing product designs to meet customer requirements;
• Consulting with customers and other departments to prepare design modifications;
• Working with purchasing on raw, hardware and software components;
• Itemizing engineering projects and preparing status reports as necessary;
• Engineering systems and data;
• Sales support for major accounts;
• Traveling as required.
• 10+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing with both technical skills and leadership/management skills;
• Hydraulic cylinder design required;
• Experience working primarily in new product introduction or production model support;
• Experience in structural analysis, buckling, hoop stress, bolted joint stresses, weld stresses, etc.;
• Experience selecting grades of steel for designs;
• Knowledge of sealing technology preferred;
• Experience leading and directing an engineering department;
• Knowledge of failure analysis, warranty analysis, sealing technology, grades of steel, new product introduction;
• Proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
• Willing to travel.
